About

Rui is an HDR student pursuing a PhD in Accounting within the School of Accounting, Auditing and Taxation at UNSW Business School.

Prior to transitioning to academia, Rui worked in the Consulting service line at one of the Big 4 accounting firms in Sydney for more than 3 years, and he also worked as an in-house consultant at one of the Group of Eight Universities in Australia for more than 2.5 years.

Throughout his professional journey, Rui gained valuable experience in areas such as digital transformation, intelligent automation, data analytics, and AI.

His research interests lie in investigating decision-making processes and behavioural biases in accounting, auditing, and financial management.
