Regular Drug Trend monitoring has been vital for Australia since 1999, but has focussed almost exclusively on State and Territory capital cities. Wastewater analyses and anecdotal service reports suggest strong regional variations within states but are not supported by current monitoring data. This presentation reviews the first regional trial for Drug Trends, which occurred in Townsville in 2019.
