Shafi is a PhD student at the University of Sydney, where he is researching the effect of NDRG1 on macrophage polarization in pancreatic cells as well as the metabolic reprogramming of the pancreatic cancer tumour microenvironment. He previously obtained a Master of Science in Medicine (Infection and Immunity) from the University of Sydney.
