As a former high-school teacher, Chanah established her academic career in the field of learning sciences, with an HD awarded Honours thesis in learners' complex causal reasoning, for which she was also a recipient of the ADA Dean's List award in 2018. She has since progressed into her doctoral studies in initial teacher education (ITE), with an emphasis on critical and philosophical approaches to researching the development of preservice teachers' professional agency.

 

Chanah currently works within School of Education (UNSW) in sessional roles within the Masters of Education and Bachelor of Education (Secondary) programs.
