We are overjoyed to see so many students, staff and alumni announced as finalists for the 2024 Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prizes, with 20 entries nominated across the three categories.
The winners will be announced at The Art Gallery of New South Wales on Friday 7 June. Good luck to all of the nominees!

PhD candidate Shireen Taweel wins 2024 Blake Prize
One of Australia's longest standing and most prestigious art prizes, the $35,000 Blake Prize is awarded to an artist who explores ideas of spirituality and religion through their work. Shireen Taweel's winning installation ‘Shoe Bathers’ conjures up the sensory relationship between body, mind, and religion in a hammam.
Biyani: Aboriginal women’s art as ceremony
Biyani is a Tharawal word which means ‘women healing women’. It was chosen to name an Aboriginal women’s arts program led by Associate Professor Fabri Blacklock.
