UNSW School of Electrical Engineering & Telecommunications undertakes a breadth of research activities, making us one of the largest postgraduate schools in Australia. Our research centres and groups strengthen our interdisciplinary research capabilities by connecting our leading researchers across the school. We work closely with our industry partners and various government bodies to translate groundbreaking research into innovative solutions that help solve the world’s most complex problems.
Our school’s reputation as a research powerhouse is evident through securing national competitive grants such as the Australia Research Council (ARC) grants and Australian Postgraduate Awards (APA). Other sources of research funding include various state and federal government bodies, industry and major private organisations.
Postgraduate research
The school's research activities are supported by students undertaking a PhD and Masters by Research degree programs. Research programs provide opportunities for qualified students to undertake courses of advanced study across their specialised research areas.
